CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA BREAD

I am excited to announce, to all of you who love banana bread, that I have found the most delicious recipe ever! I have made this banana bread many times and it always tastes moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. My banana bread-loving friends can attest. So let’s get started with the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup dark brown sugar (packed)

  • 1¼ tsp. Baking soda

  • ¾ tsp. Kosher salt

  • ⅓ cup plain Greek yogurt

  • ¼ cup (½ stick) unsalted butter (room temperature)

  • 2 large eggs

  • 4 large very ripe bananas (mashed)

  • ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat an 8½ x 4½ loaf pan with nonstick spray and line with parchment paper. NOTE: I actually have a loaf pan that is nonstick and really easy to use. All you do is place the batter into the pan once it’s ready without having to use parchment paper or nonstick spray.

Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.

Using an electric mixer on medium-high speed, beat the brown sugar, yogurt, and butter in a large bowl until it’s fluffy. NOTE: I don’t have an electric mixer so I actually use my whisk for this part too and it works completely fine! Add the eggs one at a time, blending completely after each one is added.

Reduce the speed to low and slowly add the flour mixture until it is just combined. Add the mashed bananas and mix until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly spread throughout the batter. I usually add more than the ½ cup because my friends like a lot of chips so don’t be afraid to add more if that’s what you like!

Pour the batter into your loaf pan and smooth the top. Cook for about 60-65 minutes until a tester can be inserted and comes out completely clean. Let the bread cool for about an hour once it’s done.

You’re Finished

I hope you enjoy making this banana bread! It is super yummy, and to be honest, I usually don’t even like banana bread. Let me know if there are any other recipes you would like me to test out and share!
